The Doctor of Philosophy in Design, Fashion & T Merchandising (Ph.D.) is being offered at the College of Fashion Design & Merchandising as a regular as well as a part-time programme. The Ph.D. programme is appropriate for candidates who wish to become academicians or seek to advance research in design and merchandising domains. Ph.D. in Design, Fashion & Merchandising aims to impart knowledge about the nature of design research, especially in relation to the responsible role of designers in propelling our society towards a more sustainable future. It is designed for highly creative and motivated professionals who wish to conduct rigorous and intensive design research.
CFDM’s research programme is geared to enhance design-related knowledge in a broad range of scales with a belief that design research makes essential contributions to understanding, analyzing and ultimately improving the design world. The research is often multi disciplinary and encompasses a broad range of theoretical, applied and technological topics that represent the historical and social dynamics.
Our research facilities comprise of a state-of-the-art laboratories and a dedicated team of seasoned and cerebral faculty members along with a list of external eminent experts monitoring research activities.
