M.Tech. Agricultural Engineering or Master of Technology in Agricultural Engineering is a postgraduate Agricultural Engineering course. The degree course usually comprises the specialization study in any one out of these main branches of agriculture engineering namely: Agricultural (Crop) Process & Food Engineering, Farm Machinery & Power Engineering, Irrigation & Drainage Engineering and Soil Water Conservation Engineering. More clearly, it is the study of applying engineering principles to the food and agricultural industries to make farming easier, more efficient and more profitable through the design and development of new agricultural machinery and through innovations in irrigation systems, power systems, water and soil conservation, etc. In short, this degree course mainly focuses on the study of the application of the concepts and techniques of various fields of engineering to the solution of problems arising in the field of agriculture and rural living. The duration of the course is two years and the course is an important and valuable that is also career orienting in nature.
