M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry or Master of Science in Industrial Chemistry is a postgraduate Industrial Engineering course. Chemical Chemistry produces industrial chemicals by converting raw materials (oil, natural gas, air, water, metals, and minerals) into different products. Hydrogen cyanide, cyanogen chloride, phosgene, and chloropicrin are some of chief industrial chemicals. The duration of M.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry is mostly of two academic years but it may vary from institute to institute and also may be on part time basis by certain institutes. The syllabus of the course is of four semesters. The degree course is an important and career orienting in the field of industry which opens many jobs for them after its completion.
M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry Eligibility
M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry Course Suitability
The course is suitable for those who are willing to go for teaching fields at higher level i.e. college and university level both in private and government institutions. Those who have the capacity of analyzing organic or inorganic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, or reactions, using chromatography, spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry techniques are good suit for it. They should be able write technical papers or reports or prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, or tests.
How is M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry Course Beneficial?
The course gives good base for higher degree programmes in respective subjects such as M.Phil. and Ph.D. for research work. After course they can analyze data or information Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts. They can become teacher in schools on private basis and after passing NET exam they can go for permanent lectureship at college level. Candidates can also develop career as technologists and supervisors in process improvement, product formulation, testing & analysis, quality control and production, in chemical industries, healthcare, cosmetics and petrochemical industries.
