COURSE DESCRIPTION

B.Des. Visual Communication or Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication is an undergraduate Mass Communication course. Visual communication is described as the conveyance of ideas and information in forms that can be read or looked upon. Visual communication in part or whole relies on vision, and is primarily presented or expressed with two dimensional images, it includes: signs, typography, drawing, graphic design, illustration, colour and electronic resources. This is generally three academic years course and it may be different from place to place. It may be provided on part time basis by certain institutes. The course opens many fields for the candidates after its completion in various fields.

B.Des. Visual Communication Eligibility

• The candidates should complete their 10+2 or its equivalent exam in Science stream with Electronic Media as one of the subjects.
• The marks of admission for this course may vary from college to college.
• In various colleges it conducts entrance exams plus interview and percentage of 12^th class for the admission of students.

• The course is suitable for those who are willing to go for teaching fields at higher degree level i.e. college and university level both in private and government institutions. 
• They should have a creative and inventive mind and an interest in physics and mathematics is essential to take up this challenging career.

How is B.Des. Visual Communication Course Beneficial?

• After completing the course, they are employed by design consultants, book and magazine publishers, multimedia and web design companies, advertising and publicity agents and as in-house designers for large corporations, and state and semi-state bodies. 
• There are opportunities for graduates also exist in the fields of television and film design, exhibition and display. 
• It should also be noted that many graduates of Visual Communication have scopes of setting up their own very successful design companies.
